The Hungarian authorities have confirmed a rise in Intrastat reporting thresholds for the 2026 calendar year. This update is intended to reduce the administrative workload for businesses, particularly SMEs, by limiting the number of companies subject to intra-EU statistical reporting requirements.
New thresholds effective from 1 January 2026
As of 1 January 2026, the Intrastat thresholds in Hungary will be adjusted as follows:
- Arrivals: HUF 500 million (previously HUF 400 million in 2025)
- Dispatches: HUF 200 million (previously HUF 160 million in 2025)
Intrastat reporting obligations in Hungary
Companies involved in trading goods within the European Union are required to submit monthly Intrastat declarations once the cumulative value of their intra-EU flows exceeds the applicable thresholds over a 12-month rolling period.
This change is part of Hungary’s broader strategy to simplify statistical reporting obligations while maintaining reliable oversight of intra-EU trade flows.
